The Somali Mathematical Society, in collaboration with Women For STEM, successfully conducted a capacity-building workshop titled “Mathematics for Future Leaders – Solving Complex Problems Through Numbers.”
The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of mathematics as a foundational tool for future leadership, critical thinking, and evidence-based decision-making. It brought together students, young professionals, and women with a strong interest in STEM to explore how mathematical thinking and numerical analysis can be applied to real-world challenges.
The programme featured interactive discussions and practical engagements that demonstrated the role of mathematics in problem-solving, data interpretation, and strategic planning. Participants were encouraged to view mathematics not only as an academic discipline, but also as a practical language for leadership, innovation, and societal development.
