Membership in SOMSO is open to individuals and institutions committed to advancing mathematics in Somalia and beyond.

Members gain access to academic resources, professional development, networking, and participation in society activities—plus a collective voice in shaping Somalia’s mathematics future.

SOMSO describes itself as an independent, non-profit learned society guided by integrity, transparency, inclusiveness, and public service.

Its governance includes:

  • A General Assembly as the supreme decision-making body, meeting at least every two years
  • An Executive Council responsible for leadership and administration
  • Standing committees covering research/publications, education/curriculum, Olympiads/talent development, outreach, and international cooperation
